Well, as I'm sure many of you have been waiting for, the winners for the giveaway have been announced! The giveaway has ran its course and it wasn't what we were hoping for, but not all that bad. I just hope that those who joined make use of this service and spread the word. We want to be able to give more stuff away, and even better stuff, but we need the people, the traffic to do it. And well, we'd like people to use the service as well.

Winners that uploads a picture of their character with their prize (pet or mount) and links to it on the WoW forums/MMO-Champ/etc will receive 2GB additional storage! (totalling 4GB)

In other news, the image viewer page (view example) has had its UI modified again! It was a bit too clutter some, and some functionality was getting lost in the gumble. So, the new one hopefully fixes that issue and also introduces new functionality (the linking codes). We would like to encourage the use of our image viewer and full view areas over direct image linking. It's what keeps us alive, and we've strived to still make it light on ads to ensure it doesn't become an issue. There's still another update or two to come to that page.

However, we're always open to suggestions and feedback. There's a comment area in announcements for a reason :) The public uploader and member upload page is up next for revisions!

With a little refreshing revision of the homepage, there's a little something that has popped up that has been planned for some time... But will finally make it's way on June 21st.A World of Warcraft prize-themed giveaway! Yep, no contest, just giving away free stuff here.

If any of you have noticed, there's been a new feature added to Preferences that allows you to Opt-in your account for giveaways. So, why the opt-in process? Well, I'm sure it would suck if a non-WoW player or even a spam bot received a prize from the giveaway, wouldn't it? This just allows me to randomly pick a winner from a list of interested members (opt-in accounts), making sure the prize goes to a loving home.

There will be more information (yep, that means a giveaway page as well) sometime on Monday, June 21st. You can opt-in at any time, however, just the information is coming on that day to inform you how you could be a winner of one of five prizes! WoW nerds, it's your time to get free stuff to keep you gaming in style... And one prize to just keep you gaming for at least one more month.

If this giveaway is successful, expect to see more as well as different prizes (and yes, not all WoW related). So, how can this be successful? Get the word out about LYRobot's file hosting services, convert the poor imageshack droids, and if you truly love us like a mother would, you could link to your browsing pages instead of direct linking when you share images. (for example, linking to this instead of to full view and please not directly). Doing this will help improve our services, develop more features, and give away bigger and better prizes!

Also, coming this weekend is a features page, to highlight what LYRobot has to offer... As well as some bug fixes and UI improvements... Whoo!

Yep, now there's finally a progress bar! But, not just any progress bar, it'll tell you which file it's currently uploading, how many of your files it has completed, the approximate transfer speed, estimated time left til completion, a nifty transfer graph, and and and...

Bleh, just go check it out for yourself at the upload page! It's currently only available for members, the public uploader is still the same. If you'd like faster speeds and better server performance, getting the word out about LYRobot.com to your friends and peers is a great start!

If you have any media that consist of nudity, it is required that you no NOT check the "Public: Allow these files to be browsed by other users." box; or otherwise have that media publicly available. Illegal media of any kind isn't allowed on these servers and service, as well. So please be good and follow the rules, or the media will be removed and possible disciplines will occur.

In other news, the main page is going through a revamp to better highlight certain areas of the site, and some other fun stuff coming in the near future.

So, with the design up and the development taking a day's break, it's time to check on what will be coming in the (near?) future, at least some of the things.

+ Touch up on design graphics and fixing of minor bugs.*
+ Improved Announcement Handling (multiple available on the main page)
+ Revised Image Viewer pages (to use a different design from the site)
+ New feature: Contest Opt-In (within preference area)
+ New Section: Forums (united with site's login and user system)
*minor bugs include, but not limited to: upload filesize limit for members, guest logout option, etc.

The registration area is working again, and all should be as it were. If you notice things aren't working correctly, well leave a comment here. So, it seems people's stuff won't be lost (though some publicly uploaded images may have changed their paths, this will not be fixed.)

Next up on the maintenance updating is the new design being implemented! The design is not only completed but is also coded and ready to be integrated into the system (and I'm doing this live, so expect the UI to have complications until it's finished).This will not affect any of the system's functionality or data, but could hinder one's ability to use the features until completed.

I also have another surprise to be announced soon, which isn't a big thing but a nice additional. Either way, members: enjoy your free 2GB storage and thanks for your patience.

As a new online storage solution, LYR allows 2048 MB (2GB) of storage quota and 30720 MB (30GB) of monthly bandwidth for each account. Registration is free and so is the rest of the site.
